Please consult the relevant Faculty Handbook and course pamphlet (links to be updated), as well as the ‘Grey Book’ (exam) Regulations for this course. There is also a selection of recent exam papers on OXAM.
The course begins with eight intensively taught weekly tutorials on the Gospels in the Michaelmas Term, each requiring a submitted essay (2,500-3,000 words) or oral presentation, and leading up to an examination in the Trinity Term (usually preceded by at least one revision tutorial).
The dissertation (max 15,000 words) and two formally assessed essays (max 5,000 words) are then supervised by individual arrangement, ideally to be agreed with the course director during Michaelmas Term, before topics are proposed and approved by the Graduate Studies Committee in the Hilary Term.
Michaelmas Term Tutorial Classes
Unless otherwise announced, the examined exegetical paper for the course will be taught through tutorial classes in the Michaelmas Term, held jointly with those for Paper A1 in the MPhil New Testament: The Gospels and Acts. Time TBC, but normally Fridays at 12:00 noon in Room WL2, Keble College. See here for essay questions and reading lists.
